圣诞节假期后刚上班就收到了朋友的好消息[耶][耶] [撒花][撒花]朋友三个月前硕士毕业,一直在找工作。圣诞节前朋友收到面试通知,假期后第一天进行网络面试 (virtual interview)。昨天上午朋友信心满满地在电脑前面试,面试结束后给我打电话说感觉很好。没想到这么快,今天下午朋友就收到了conditional offer,面试的公司发邮件要求朋友尽快去做PRC。加拿大的办事效率很低的,从去当地警局申请PRC到拿到结果需要两到三周的时间 (不过,警局提供有加急服务 rush service;加急服务当然要多付申请费了[捂脸][捂脸]) 。那么,PRC指的是什么呢?
首先,可以肯定的是,此PRC非彼PRC (People?39;s Republic of China). 这个PRC是Police Reference Check or Police Record Check的首字母缩略词,意思是无犯罪记录证明,俗称 ?34;良民证?34;。在加拿大,很多单位在雇新员工或者招义工时要求提交无犯罪记录证明。
首字母缩略词的英语是acronym [??kr?n?m],是组合每个词的首字母构成新词或是专有名词的形式。
